・Consortium of CHODAI CO.,LTD. and NIPPON ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS CO.,LTD. in association with Transport Engineering Design Incorporated
・IHI Infrastructure Systems Co.,Ltd
・Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co.,Ltd.

Nhat Tan Bridge is one of the largest ODA bridge projects in South-East Asia with 1,500 m of length, 300 m of maximum span and 33.2 m of effective width.
This bridge is a 6-span continuous 2-main I-girder cable-stayed bridge with five main towers which were adopted from standpoints of river condition, height limitation and cost-optimization and resulted in a rare structure worldwide.
The promotion of technology transfer, an ODA purpose, along with shortening work periods and cost reduction under the strict site condition, can contribute significantly to the development of bridge technology in Vietnam, and deserves the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka award.

2.SANRIKU Railway HAIPESAWA Bridge
・Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology Agency, Tokyo Branch
・SANRIKU Railway Company
・YACHIYO Engineering Co., Ltd.
・JV of TOKYU Construction Co., Ltd. and KOYAMA Kensetsu Co., Ltd.
The SANRIKU Railway HAIPESAWA Bridge is a 2-span continuous SRC through girder with geosynthetic-reinforced soil on the SANRIKU Railway Kita-Rias Line, which is a replacement for the old bridge washed away by the tsunami.
It is the first application of “GRS integral bridge” which combines the integration between superstructure and substructure and geosynthetic-reinforced soil for disaster mitigation, reduction of cost, operation and maintenance.
The world first application of “GRS integral bridge” which will contribute significantly to the development of future bridge technology deserves the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka award.

3.Otagawa-Ohashi Bridge
・Hiroshima City
・Eight-Japan Engineering Consultants Inc., EAU Ltd.,
・Kukankogaku kenkyujo Co. Ltd.
・Kokushikan University,
・Shimizu Corp.
・Kyokuto Kowa Corp.
Otagawa-Ohashi bridge is a 412m long, 6-span continuous steel-concrete composite arch bridge with 116m maximum span. Its design was decided in the international design competition held by Hiroshima City from 2008 to 2009.
The twin vaulted arch was designed to harmonize with the landscape. The sidewalk is detached from the roadway to be user friendly and for viewing of Seto inland sea.
The large-block arch girders were erected during the erection of cantilevered PC box girders using deck barges. Further extension was done by hanging the in-situ cast box girders from the arch.
The plan, design and construction of this bridge will contribute significantly to the development of future bridge technology and deserve the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka award.

Irabu Bridge is 3540 m in length, consisting of a three-span continuous steel box girder bridge and 32- and 14-span continuous PC box girder bridges, and a longest bridge in Okinawa Prefecture that connects a main island with an isolated island.
The bridge has been constructed in one of the severest environments in Japan with subtropical heat and humidity, strong wind, and frequent typhoon attacks. The design and construction to withstand this severe environment will contribute significantly to the development of future bridge technology and the bridge deserves the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka award.

5.GENTA Bridge
・TOTTORI Pref.
・PASCO COPRPORATION
・JV of Fuji P.S Corporation and UBE MACHINERY Co.Ltd.
 and KOUNOGUMI Corporation

・KURIYAMAGUMI Co.,Ltd
・YAMAKOU Construction Co.,Ltd
The GENTA bridge, constructed in 1951, was a 358m long and 16-span continuous RC Gerber girder bridge.
Because of its narrow width and small design live-load, this bridge has been renewed to be 16-span continuous steel and RC girder bridge. The RC suspended girders have been replaced by steel girders and reinforced by outer cable and FRP. The fix and move conditions at the bearings have been switched to reduce seismic strengthening cost.
