Work style reform ─ How would you change your common sense? ─
Following a five-year grace period, regulations on overtime caps will be applied to the construction industry beginning in April 2024. Given the so-called 2024 problem, the entire construction industry has worked to implement work-style reforms. This issue first covers the current situation and introduces the industry's challenges. Following the change in society, the industry, too, is searching for more flexible work styles. With the adoption of remote work following the COVID-19 pandemic, we are entering an era in which people are freed from the constraints of space and time, have more time for themselves, and can work in ways that allow them to better balance their personal lives and their careers. Preferences for work styles differ on an individual basis, meaning there is no single correct answer on the best way to work. This issue aims to provide readers with opportunities and clues to think about their own work styles through surveys, roundtable discussions, and articles on the subject.
