In response to 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

On January 1st, 2024, the Noto Peninsula area of Ishikawa Prefecture was struck by M 7.5 earthquake which induced heavy shaking and tsunamis. That earthquake caused extensive damages on the Peninsula. On behalf of JSCE members, we extend our deepest condolences and sympathies for the loss of life and property and to all who are facing this difficult time.

We set up an emergency headquarters in the JSCE office soon after the event and have been gathering the data of seismic activities, tsunami movements, and damages caused in the area. We will share those data on the website to be used for assistance, relief, and recovery services and help communities and individuals affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

Again, our wish is for the safety of everyone and the earliest possible recovery of the affected areas.
