Using Artificial Intelligence: Recommendations for Introducing AI into Civil Engineering
Increasingly, AI is being introduced into the practice of civil engineering. This special feature is roughly divided into three parts, the first of which explains AI as it currently stands. It covers issues from a social science perspective in introducing AI, as well as highlights the activities of the JSCE Subcommittee on Utilizing AI in Structural Engineering. The second part includes articles and actual programs that act as tutorials for those readers looking to utilize AI. And the third part highlights important points when applying AI, covers case studies of actual applications in civil engineering, and examines AI and the post-COVID-19 world. The goal of this special feature is to enable our readers to make use of AI in future projects.
