The International Summer Symposium (ISS) provides a platform for international students and engineers to present, discuss and exchange their research interest in English. It consists of paper presentations, a half day workshop, and Networking Reception.

The 22nd ISS will be held on 9 and 10 September 2020 as part of Common Sessions of 2020 JSCE Annual Meeting at Nagoya Institute of Technology.

International Workshop for Young Civil Engineers (WS)
WS Theme: "Utilization of AI in Civil Engineering for Future Society"

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the workshop has been canceled. We hope to see you next year.

    ・WS Outline: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been making great progress and permeating everyday life. But, do we know what AI is? How do we employ AI to optimize construction projects and solve challenges?  You will explore the possibility of AI and  the utilization of AI in the civil engineering field in this workshop.

    ・WS Special Instructor: 全 邦釘 先生 (Pang-jo Chun, Project Associate Professor, The University of Tokyo)

・Maximum Participants: 42 people

・If participants capacity reached, selection will be conducted by IAC International Student Network Group.

 

Networking Reception

Who can participate

・International students or Japanese students who study civil engineering at Japanese University.
・Young Civil Engineers who work in Japanese companies.

※To submit the paper, you need to be a JSCE Member.

How to apply

①Go to the JSCE Annual Meeting website: http://committees.jsce.or.jp/zenkoku/.

②Choose “CS2 International Session,” which is the 22nd International Summer Symposium” when you submit  your paper.

※・Paper Submission Deadline: 5:00 p.m., 1st April 2020

  ・Only JSCE Members is eligible to submit a paper to make oral presentation at the JSCE Annual

     Meeting. If you are not a JSCE Member and interested in participating in the ISS, please register a JSCE  

     membership by 28th February.

③Then, after the session program is open on the Annual Meeting website, JSCE International Activities Center will contact you for further procedures.
