In response to the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake

On July 28, 2026, an earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 7
occurred with its epicenter in the Kumamoto region of Kumamoto Prefecture.
Enormous damage has been caused by this disaster.
On behalf of JSCE members, we offer my heartfelt condolences to the victims
and their families and express our deepest sympathies to all those who have been affected.
The Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) has established a Disaster Countermeasures
Headquarters and is taking action, including gathering various types of information.
