Study Tour Grant

The Study Tour Grant is a program provided by the International Scientific Exchange Fund to promote the mutual understanding and cooperation between JSCE and overseas Societies / Institutions of the Civil Engineering Field. The purpose of this program is to invite engineers from the overseas Societies / Institutions to Japan and to assist them in understanding the actual status and activities of Japanese civil engineering. The JSCE Study Tour Grant is offered yearly to a qualified member of the aforementioned Societies / Institutions to support the travel to and from Japan, and to provide for other expenses arising during the stay in Japan.

A unique tour program will be put together, based on the requests and interests of the recipient. This will include a visit to JSCE Headquarters, and others to various companies, research institutions, and worksites, etc. There will be many opportunities to meet and hold discussions with specialists in the engineering field.

Upon completion of the tour program, the recipient is requested to submit a report to JSCE and the recommending Society / Institution so that many may benefit from the same experience, and gain further insights into each other's cultures.
